Find Out What Fraxel Treatments are Really Like
Are you finding it more and more difficult to ignore creeping fine lines on your face? Large pores, perhaps? Maybe dark spots?
You’ve probably already heard about the glow-inducing benefits of Fraxel laser—it’s one of Courtney Cox’s and Kim Kardashian’s favorite treatments—but in case you haven’t, here’s the scoop.
Fraxel is a treatment designed for reversing the signs of aging and improving skin. Using laser technology, this treatment rejuvenates the skin and improves its health safely, no matter your age or ethnicity. It gives your skin a smooth and fresh appearance, along with improved tone and texture. You’ll see reduced wrinkles, spots and scars. No wonder people love Fraxel. Especially, since Fraxel treatments are praised for being fast and requiring very little recovery time.
Using a Fraxel laser, Fremont Laser & Skin Care’s trained and certified staff causes controlled (and safe) micro-injury to your skin, and the impressive effects take place during the recovery process. Fraxel uses your skin’s natural ability to create new, healthy tissue to replace damaged cells by stimulating new collagen growth. The result is like a real-life air-brush effect: smoother, younger-feeling skin.
Fraxel lasers zone in on targeted nagging concerns, such as fine lines, enlarged pores and pigmentation.
To gain the full benefits of Fraxel treatment, two to four treatments scheduled one month apart each are typically recommended. The effects are long lasting after initial treatment appointments at our comfortable office in Fremont, CA. Annual or bi-annual “touch up” treatments can keep skin’s regained youthful appearance.
What to Expect During Fraxel Treatments?
During the first session, most patients will have a numbing cream applied to their face an hour prior to the Fraxel treatment. Although it’s numbing cream, patients will still most likely feel some discomfort while the Fraxel laser is doing its job—it is a laser, after all. But the pain isn’t too much, and it’s quickly over. The first session usually only takes about fifteen minutes, and then the face is iced with cold packs for another few minutes. Applying a healing cream completes the treatment and that’s it for session one.
The next few days, the skin can be red, dry and/or swell. Some patients feel they look older immediately following treatment. That’s normal, and very temporary. Skin care products designed for post laser treatment are recommended and bring about the “Fraxel glow” that everyone loves.
Depending on the skin concerns being treated, the next session may be a little more intense. Fremont Laser & Skin Care’s staff may decide to target certain areas more deeply, which increases the power of the laser treatment. This session may also take a little longer. Because of all this, the next session may result in a bit more discomfort, and even more visible results. Again, ice packs, protective balm and careful post treatment care speeds healing.
Because of the increased concentration, recovery time for session two might mean a few more days of redness, dry skin, and swelling compared to session one’s recovery time.
Sessions three and four, if recommended, will likely be like session two. As the skin does its part by producing new collagen, patients see considerable improvement to the treated trouble areas.
While no treatment can stop the signs of aging, the Fraxel laser most certainly slows them down. To learn more about Fraxel treatments, contact us to learn more and schedule a complimentary consultation.
