Fraxel Laser Treatment

The Palomar 1040 Intense Pulsed Light machine offers fractional skin resurfacing for the treatment of mild to severe sun damage, fine lines, age spots, sun spots, acne and hypertrophic scars. Unlike traditional resurfacing that leaves the skin looking waxy and unnatural, fractional resurfacing creates microscopic zones of resurfacing, leaving much of the surrounding skin intact and minimizing downtime.

The first day or two after treatment, the skin will have a mild swelling and sunburned appearance. Mild peeling will occur for 7-10 days and the microthermal zones will begin to generate new collagen formation. Optimal results require four treatments, each a month apart. Approximately 25% of the skin is resurfaced with each session and improvement will continue for 6-8 months after the last treatment.
